Hi,

I would like to ask a few questions regarding the GSoC 2026 application process:

• Should I apply through the official GSoC portal, or is there a separate application process for your organization? I couldn’t find the application section on the GSoC website yet.

• Besides the proposal, are there any additional materials required (e.g., CV/resume, portfolio, or other documents)?

I want to make sure I follow the correct process and prepare everything properly. Thank you very much for your help!

Thanks for your response, I have mainly used Matplotlib for data visualization in Python, especially for exploratory analysis and plotting time series or distributions. I’m particularly interested in the overlay layer project, especially the idea of improving interactive performance like crosshair cursor without full redraw. I have experience working with Python and data-related projects and I have started exploring Matplotlib’s interactivity documentation to better understand how events and rendering are handled, and I’m planning to experiment with a simple crosshair implementation to learn more about the event and drawing flow.
