Hello Everyonee,
I’m Marc Chahwan, a Lebanese Mechanical Engineering student with experience in full-stack development and data science. I’ve used Matplotlib to visualize high-frequency sensor telemetry and complex mechanical system data during internships at Mercedes-Benz and Caterpillar, uncovering patterns, diagnosing issues, and solving problems.
I’m excited to contribute wherever the library needs help, especially with complex, high-impact challenges; from tricky bugs to improving performance, usability, or visualization of high dimensional data. I bring a combination of engineering insight and software experience, including MATLAB (Vanderbilt University), Python (Harvard edX, Eurisko), C++, NumPy, Matplotlib and used all of them and more on hands-on full-stack development and various projects at Eurisko. I’m also deeply interested in AI/ML and how we can better visualize model performance and engineering datasets.
I recently submitted a PR (#9970) fixing scale-aware axis clearing, ensuring clear(), cla(), and clf() handle logarithmic scales correctly and eliminate the invalid limit UserWarning. It was soo much fun!!

I’d love the opportunity to help the Matplotlib community tackle its most challenging problems this summer!!
keep up the amazing workk!!
