failure with python setup.py build

Hello, I would like to know what I can do to fix this problem.

See my previous posts, subject “Matplotlib in cygwin”. I attached a
patch in that thread that solves this problem for me, but it looks like
I have other more serious problems with cygwin on my machine.
Please let us know if you get it to work.
