wishlist: "q" or "Ctrl-q" should close the window

Hello,

do you think it would be possible to make the "q" key (as in gnuplot)
or "Ctrl-q" (as in many other programs) close the matplotlib window?
Currently I always have to catch the mouse to close the window, which
for a fast mouse and a slow Jochen is a little bit cumbersome.

All the best,
Jochen

+1 for 'q', it's the one gnuplot keybinding I forgot to mention to John in a private message yesterday about further gnuplot keybindings.

I hate programs which require an extra Ctrl- modifier when the window has no explicit text input, hence no need whatsoever for the Ctrl- (other than foolish consistency, which as we all know is the hobgoblin of little minds  This is one of the things I love about gv, xpdf, gnuplot and ImageMagick's display: they all get out of your way with a simple 'q' (quite a few other 'old school' unix utils have this, while all of the newfangled gnome/kde stuff sticks mindlessly to Ctrl- modifiers even where they make no sense whatsoever).

If Ctrl-q is enabled _in addition_ to plain 'q', that's OK by me.

Best,
