Thanks Paul. I am new to Python and Github. There is lot to dig through. Can you point to a link/document that gives me a searchable roadmap and/or index for all the code elements for matplotlib.

I'm not aware that we have edge filters at all. It sounds like maybe
you need scikit-image, not matplotlib.
