Matplotlib.

Compiling matplotlib from Ports in FreeBSD is a Joke! Who ever made this get t together. I don’t want every X based lib on the planet just so I can make some images (on a cli based system).

Well, that was rude. It's free and open source. Go hack it yourself.
Or find another package: there are several with a command-line
interface, though I have found none which produces plots that
look as nice as matplotlib's.

Besides, for publication quality plots, you need to be able to see
what you're plotting before committing it to paper. In fact, plots of
data for any reason should be viewable on-screen. Since it is good
not to keep re-inventing the wheel, use of pre-existing libraries
for display is a rational choice.

Hi,

Alright, that was rude. And for that I appologise. Perhaps I should have counted to 10 before posting. I’m sure lots of hard work went into the port. However, that was pretty frustrating.
