I just tried matplotlib-0.54 under Win98 with the GTKAgg

Can you try flushing the old site-packages/matplotlib and reinstall?
Did you use the numarray or numeric matplotlib build? There is a
problem with the numarray build in that it was built against numarray
CVS. Hopefully we can get a new build up tomorrow.
Do you get a segfault or a traceback? Are there any messages?
