I?ve ?beautified? the pendulum animation (from matplotlib examples): https://github.com/rougier/pendulum
I can make a PR if you think it?s worth to replace the original one.

It is prettier, but it isn't showing the divergence of the trajectories,
which is the real teaching point of double pendulums -- sensitive
dependence on initial conditions.
